BACA(北京英伦艺大艺术中心)，伦敦艺术大学和Charlie Dutton画廊将在7月联合举办“北京艺术家驻地”项目，将邀请来自英国的艺术家和设计师们进行独立工作室创作或联合艺术学生们一起创作， 项目旨在协助艺术家独一无二的创作过程，激发他们与众不同的灵感和个人风格。
‘The Air in BEIJING ’

In association with BACA, University Arts London & Charlie Dutton Gallery
BACA (Beijing Academy of Creative Arts), UAL (University Art London) and Charlie Dutton Gallery London/Beijing are very pleased to announce in July the launch of ‘BEIJING AiR ’ (Artist in Residence) program, where we will be inviting various fine artists and designers from UK to work on the own studio practice, students and have a chance to exhibit in a group show next year in Beijing and in London.
The purpose of an artist residency is to assist the creative process of an artist in a unique situation that will inspire their artwork in a distinctive and individual direction.
We are offering artist to submit various types of proposals through out the year from UK based artists, who work in any media including, Film and Video, Photography, Painting or Sculpture, we shall also be inviting designers for all disciplines.
The artists may spend from 2 weeks up to 2 months working in Beijing whist they will be introduced to a growing contemporary art scene in Beijing. They will be provided with accommodation and a studio space as well as assistants from the BACA staff to get them familiarized with what can be a daunting but exciting city to a newcomer.
We hope you can come and meet and hear some of the artists over the academic year in a stimulating and informative program of talks where they will discuss their work, ideas and inspirations.
In addition some time in 2015 artists who have completed the program Charlie Dutton will put on a group show on in Beijing and then London.

We are excited award and work with Richard Elliot from Chelsea Collage of Art for our inaugural program between 10h July – 4th August 2014. Richard Elliot who covers a range of artist materials and processes, but at the heart of many of his concerns has been an investigation of the environment that we live in. Across Painting, Photography, Sculpture, Performance and Video he has explored the urban as both lived experience and concept.
He has been fortunate enough to work with many of the big names in the British art scene such as Sir Anthony Caro, Damien Hirst and the Chapman Brothers. He also is an associated lecture and Technical Manager at CCW (Chelsea, Camberwell and Wimbledon College of arts). We are delighted to invite Richard to give a talk on his role at UAL, his experience with working with some of the great artist of our time and of course his own art practice and inspirations and what he plans to get out of his stay in Beijing.
